About Martial Arts America

Traditional Training. Strong Values. One Martial Arts Community.

Martial Arts America is a family-friendly martial arts school serving Ankeny, Altoona, Madrid, Elkhart, Grimes, Colfax, and Maxwell.

We teach traditional Korean Tae Kwon Do based on the teachings of Grand Master Woojin Jung. Our training combines martial arts techniques, self-defense, physical development, and fundamental life principles in a positive environment for children, adults, and families.

Parents can train, too. Our family classes give parents and children the opportunity to learn together, stay active, and make martial arts a shared experience.

Traditional Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do originated in Korea and is now practiced around the world. At Martial Arts America, fundamental life principles are taught alongside our traditional martial arts training system.

Tae Kwon Do is about mind and character development as much as it is physical exercise and self-defense. Students develop technique, balance, coordination, fitness, confidence, and discipline while learning principles that extend beyond the training floor.

The Five Principles of Our School

  • Courtesy
  • Integrity
  • Perseverance
  • Self-Control
  • Indomitable Spirit

These principles guide how we train, overcome challenges, and treat others.

Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga & Tiny Tigers

Our traditional Tae Kwon Do classes combine structured instruction with physical fitness, self-defense, discipline, and character development.

Krav Maga

Our Krav Maga training focuses on practical self-defense skills and techniques taught in a structured, supportive environment.

Tiny Tigers

Tiny Tigers introduces younger children to martial arts through age-appropriate training focused on movement, listening, participation, confidence, and respect. The program is available at all seven locations.

Martial Arts for the Whole Family

Martial Arts America gives families the opportunity to do more than watch from the sidelines. Parents and children can train together, develop their skills, and work toward personal goals while sharing an active experience.

Our black belt-ranked instructors lead classes at our main and branch locations, providing a welcoming place for beginners and experienced martial artists alike.
